What Is Day Trading?
Day trading is simply looking at a stock chart and reading the indicators that tell you when the stock might rise and when it might fall so you can buy it at a low price and sell it at a higher price. That's it! Now of course there are a few other things to look for so I recommend using post it notes to remind yourself to look for them.

Hardware
You can get started using a laptop, but later you will want to use a desktop computer with several monitors. At that point I recommend a good computer preferably i-5 or better and one or two 27 inch monitors. You need these larger monitors because you need more room for the charting software so it will not appear to be small. Do not use a touch screen. Reduce glare by using indirect lighting. You will be looking at charts for hours so a great task chair is a must!

Open an Individual Broker Account
I can better help you if you are using what I use so go ahead and open a cash trading account with Schwab at https://www.schwab.com/trading/thinkorswim/desktop.Be sure to write down your user name and password. At first just deposit $100 into your account using the ACH transfer option to your bank account. |

Next download the Think or Swim Desktop software at https://www.schwab.com/trading/thinkorswim/desktop Now open thinkorswim using the icon and click on the Education tab, then click on the subtab "Learning Center", next click on "Think Manual", finally click on "Getting Started" and start watching all the tutorial videos. |
